Norma Daniel "Pud" Purnell died peacefully on October 4, 2007. She was born in Oakdale, Louisiana, to Beaulah Patterson Daniel and George Daniel. She grew up in Angleton, Texas, and graduated from Angleton High School in 1938 and looked forward every year to her class reunion that was just last week. Norma attended Southwest Louisiana Institute where she was Drum Major of the marching band. She was Department Manager for American General Insurance where she worked for 30 years.
Norma loved and cherished her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Fred Vernon Purnell. She leaves to mourn, her sons, Fred Vernon Purnell II and wife, Margie, of La Grange, Georgia and Dan Purnell and wife, Rosemary, of Cypress, TX. Norma was the very proud grandmother of Kelly Purnell Fleming and husband, Joe, Paul Purnell and wife, Zoe, and Sara Brown; and great-grandmother of Luke, Ellen, Emma and Anna; as well as numerous family members and friends. She left a legacy of happy memories to all that knew her.
The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2007, at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2007, in the Palms Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Angleton Cemetery.
