Elizabeth (Betty) Penyock Daniel, 85, Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 12, 2013 at her home surrounded by family. Visitation will be from 6 pm - 8 pm Wednesday, January 16, at D. W. Newcomer's Sons, 509 S. Noland Road, Independence, MO with a Rosary at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am Thursday, January 17, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church; 611 N. Liberty Street, Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Elizabeth was born February 8, 1927 in Sugar Creek, Missouri, the daughter of Stephen and Theresa (Sojcak) Penyock, and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1945. She worked for Remington Arms, Lake City, MO where she met and married Paul (Ike) Daniel, and later handled the day-to-day accounting for their business Danco Oil Company in Blue Springs. She enjoyed reading, crafts, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family. She was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church, and former member of the Altar Society. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Velma Pott, and brothers, Tom Penyock and Paul Penyock. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Paul Daniel; daughters, Ann Beninato (Mike) of Independence; Kathleen Burmeister (Brent) of Oak Grove, son, Luke Daniel (Tammy) of Blue Springs; six grandchildren; sisters, Agnes Wells of Sugar Creek, Virginia Baker of Tulsa; and numerous nieces, nephews and family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice Care.
Elizabeth Clair Penyock, age 27 of 11045 Norledge, Sugar Creek, Jackson County, Missouri married Paul Frederick Daniel, age 28 of 403 E. Walnut, Independence, Jackson County, Missouri on October 2, 1954 in Jackson County, MO.
