Danford Service scheduled
Final rites for Mrs. Rachel Danford will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Lamont United Methodist Church.
Rev. Carrol Gilbert will officiate and burial will in Lamont Cemetery with Pishny Funeral Home of Deer Creek in charge.
Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Steddum, Tommy Gautier, Dave McWilliams and Bryan Dowell.
Active casketbearers will be Homer Heusel, Ralph Bobbitt, Gene Brewer, Bryan Kugel, Floyd Mach and Gordon Heusel.
The body will lie in state from 11 a.m. until service time.
Mrs. Danford, 84, died early Tuesday morning in Blackwell General Hospital.
She was born on a farm east of Lamont on May 10, 1896, the daughter of Pete(r) and Ione (sic Iona) Hoffman, and spent most of her life in Lamont. She was a member of the Lamont Methodist Church and the church's afternoon circle, the Garden Club, was a 5-year member of Lamont Eastern Star chapter and belonged to Ponca City Pioneer China Painters.
Her husband, Wayne, preceded her in death three weeks ago on Jan 6.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Bill (Ola Mae) Stockwell, Lamont; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Roy Gerber and Mrs. Roy Summers, both of Wichita and Mrs. Margaret Cromwell, McAllen TX.
