Aged Resident Passed Away
The funeral of Mrs. Edward Danberry was held last Thursday afternoon, August 5th. A resident of this area her entire life, she was 88 years of age. She died Monday. August 2, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. E. Leighton at Eagle Lake, where she was being cared for recently.
Mrs. Danberry was born at Waterville, July 12, 1866, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anton Heidershal, Sr. She was married to Edward Danberry, who preceded her in death in 1934 (1942 – sic). Since that time she made her home with her son, Alfred Danberry, on the farm west of Elysian.
Services were held from the Worlein chapel in Waterville with interment at Elysian in Cedar Hill cemetery. Rev. J. H. Grostephan, pastor of the Waterville Methodist church, officiated at the last rites.
Pallbearers were Marvin Arndt, Sylvester Kopp, Leo Weber, Loyd Foster, Dan Terrell and Jack Fitcher.
She is survived by two daughters and one son, Mrs. L. E. Leighton of Eagle Lake, Mrs. Ella Hunter of Ironton, and Alfred Danberry on the home place. Also two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Gordon, Portland, Oregon and Mrs. E. S. (Barbara) Johnson, Minneapolis; and two brothers, Paul Heidershal of Mankato and Louis Heidershal of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Two brothers, Anton and Fred Heidershal, preceded her in death.
