Elizabeth D. Betty Brummitt, in Quincy, on Dec. 1, 2012 after a long and fruitful life. Betty was a resident of Quincy, a graduate of Quincy High School before moving to Braintree in 1985. She was the beloved wife of the late Wesley Parmenter Brummitt and daughter of the late Charles and Mary Dan, all of Quincy. Betty was the youngest member of her family and the last surviving sister of the late Mabel Belyea, Effie Quinn, Rose Mitchell, Frederick Dan, and Ann Handschiegl, all lifelong residents of Quincy. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Thomas J. Sullivan of Braintree, daughters-of-the-heart Judy Corbeil and Kathleen ODonnell, both of Braintree, and her dear nephew, Freddie Dan of Weymouth. She will be missed by her cher amie and sister-in-law Gloria Brummitt of Quincy, brother- and sister-in-law Jack and Beverly Brummitt of New Port Richey and sisters-in-law Katherine Brummitt of Sun City, Florida and Glenn Brummitt of Norfolk, Virginia, and a large extended family. At the request of the decedent, private services were held in Quincy on Dec. 20, 2012. Memorial contributions can be made to the Massachusetts Nurses Foundation.
