Arnold was born October 31, 1934, to Henry and Frieda (Kuhlmann) Dammermann in Maynard, MN. He served in the Army from 1954 to 1956 and graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 1958. He was an Industrial Designer for 41 years. He designed furniture with William Stumpf and Associates of Winona and at Steelcase Inc. until his retirement in 1999. He is listed as an inventor on more than 20 design and utility patents. Arnold married Darlene (Schmidt) on December 10, 1960 at Central Lutheran Church, Minneapolis, MN. He has enjoyed being involved with Habitat for Humanity, attending area art studios, drawing including water colors and charcoals. He recently rediscovered golf. He spent over 50 years visiting the same cabin on Sand Point Lake and perhaps this was his greatest enjoyment.
He was survived by his wife, Darlene of Winona; children: Hans Dammermann, Winona,MN; Anya Dammermann, Rochester,MN; and Kurt (Susan Walsh) Dammermann, San Francisco, CA. One grandchild: Greta. Two sisters: Evy and Rosie. A sister in law: Ann Dammermann, a brother in law: David Hubel, and many nieces and nephews.
Arnold is preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Lorraine and Linda and brother Curly.
