Marylene Bryant, 74 of Waynesville passed away Monday at her residence. She was born in Haywood County on September 3, 1932 to the late Ernest and Mary Chiles Dalton. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She retired from Chestnut Park Rest Home #2 where she worked as a nurse assistant.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Dalton and a sister, Catherine Jackson.
She is survived by a sister, Ernestine Pleasant and her husband, Henry of Waynesville; a special nephew, Derrick Dalton of Jamaica, NY, nephews, Charles Dalton, Jr. of Jamaica, NY and Robert Johnson, Jr. of Upper Marlboro, MD; nieces, Cheryl Coppage of Baltimore, MD and Michelle Dalton of NC; Uncle and Aunt Samuel and Mildred Chiles of Upper Marlboro, MD, Aunt, Lorriane Bouknight of Waynesville; special cousins, Henry Dalton and James Howard both of Waynesville; and special friends, Jacqueline Bryant, Romaine Casey, and Myrtle White.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Saturday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Reverend Anthony Sweat officiating. Burial will be held prior to the memorial service at Dix Hill Cemetery.
