R. 3 resident, died at 12:30 this morning at the Bloomington Hospital. Mrs. Carter was admitted to the hospital April 7 after suffering a broken hip. The native of Owen County was born Oct. 19,1877, the daughter of Thomas and Carolyn Dalton. Her husband, Wesley Carter, whom she married in 1896, preceded her in death. Mrs, Carter, who spent most of her life In Morgan County, was a member of the Quincy Baptist Church, The long-time resident of the county leaves a daughter and two sons, Mrs. Bertha Martin of this city, Ollie Gayle Carter and Elmer Carter, who both live on R, R. 3. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild also survive her. Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Cure and Hensley Chapel, Elder Robert Potter will conduct the services, and burial will be in Hilldale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
