EDGERTON - Mrs. Martha Burdick, 87, of 810 W. Fulton St., died unexpectedly at her home Wednesday. She was the mother of longtime Edgerton city clerk and assessor Norman Burdick. The former Martha Dallman was born Oct. 29, 1887, in Germany and came to Edgerton in 1889 with her parents. She was married to Claude Burdick Dec. 30, 1906, and had lived at her present address since the couple moved there in 1908. Her husband died in 1932 [1937]. Mrs. Burdick was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and a charter member of its Ladies Aid.
Surviving are five sons, Lawrence, Arlington, Va., Robert, Norman and Stanley, all of Edgerton, and Alan, Janesville; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Otto Dallman, Milton, and Albert Dallman in the state of Oregon; and a sister, Mrs. Erna Huber, Milwaukee. Services are at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in St. John Church, with burial in Fassett Cemetery.
