HENRY DALLDORF FOUND DEAD AT FARM HOME

When she failed to see anyone around the Henry Dalldorf farm home Friday morning as she went to school, Darlene Kumm, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kumm, told her father, who investigated and found Mr. Dalldorf dead in a rocking chair in the kitchen of the house he had occupied alone for a number of years.

The place is about three and one-half miles north of Bazile Mills. Attorney W. Keith Peterson, coroner, found that death came probably late last Saturday night or early Sunday morning and was from natural causes. He was 66 years old.

He had ridden to Creighton and shopped Saturday night with Herman Hinzman, a neighbor and had climbed the steep hill to his place afoot upon his return. The ground was wet and the soil heavy and apparently he had removed his overshoes outside, entered the house and sank into a chair to rest from the exertion before retiring and there died. His key was still on the outside of the unlocked door he entered.

Sheriff Norman Burns and Deputy Edw. McQuistan, accompanied Mr. Peterson on the examination.

Born in Germany in 1878, Henry D. Dalldorf came to America with his parents to Lyons, Iowa, when 4 years of age. At the age of 17 he came to Nebraska and settled east of Bazile Mills. In 1910 he moved to Creighton and in 1912 to Bazile Mills, where he lived for nine years. In 1917 he moved onto the place where he died.

He was baptized in the Lutheran Church in Germany and confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Lyons, Iowa. His parents died on the same day 20 years ago in 1923 and his only brother died this year on January 18 at Clinton, Iowa.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Mrs. William Dalldorf and two nephews, Ernest and Herbert Dalldorf, all of Clinton.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday morning at the Hengstler chapel with Rev. G.B. Anderson of the Federated Church officiating. Burial was in Bazile Mills Cemetery.
