Mrs. R.P. Dalgleish
Halifax Herald

Bridgewater, May 10- Death Thursday evening brought to a close the life of Mrs. R.P. Dalgleish, following a few days illness. Her passing has saddened the community in which she lived, not only in years but in good deeds. She was born in Kingston, Ontario, and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Reynolds. She moved to Bridgewtaer in 1902 from Ontario with her husband, when he was engaged on the engineering staff of the MacKenzie and Mann Co. Her work for her town and province has drawn comment from a leading women's magazine of the Dominion, "The Chatelaine." She toiled tirelessly and succeeded in making her life useful to others by carrying on in the face of physical handicap. For thirteen years Mrs. Dalgleish gave excellent service as President of the Ladies Aid of the Dawson Memorial Hospital. Under her capable leadership the hospital has been well equipped with X-ray; a nitrous Oxid Oxygen machine installed in 1933; a nurses' home (which she officially opened); a laundry; a nursery, all of which is the work of the Ladies Aid of which she was the untiring president. (written on obit - 1935)

With thanks to Rosemary Rafuse.
