Diana Dale Barnard, 67, of Austin, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012. She was born to the late Morris "Budder" Dale and Alphine Canion Dale, August 25, 1944, in Austin, TX. A graduate of Travis High School in 1962, Diana received a BS in Education from the University of Texas. She was married to Terry Barnard her husband of 20 loving years and they lived together in Austin.
Diana was a third grade teacher at Oak Hill Elementary School until she retired in 2004.
She was passionate about her students and continued to keep tabs on "her" kids long after they left her classroom. She made tremendous impressions on her students and lifelong friends with her fellow teachers and administrators.Diana enjoyed Life ! She loved playing bridge and was a fisherman, a trait she inherited from her father, and loved to spend time saltwater fishing with family and friends. In 2008, she and her REEL CRAZY teammates won their division in the Babes on the Bay Tournament. She was also an avid golfer and member of an Elite traveling Golf Group " Bandera Babes" she deeply enjoyed the days with her golfing buddies .
She was President of the Onion Creek Ladies Association and Active Board member of the Women's Golf Association.Diana is survived by her husband, Terry; her son Chris Brown and his wife Denise , of Cibolo; Gregg Barnard and wife Diana, of Flower Mound; Cheryl Litzkow and husband Mike, of Frisco; Kerry Patch and husband Todd, of Austin; Brad Barnard and wife Katie, of Spicewood; Ashlee and Ricky as well as ten other grandchildren. Diana was preceded in passing by her parents Morris "Budder" and Alphine Dale and her sister, June Fugate. A memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 13 at Manchaca Methodist Church with reception to immediately follow. 4435 Frontier Trail Austin, TX 78745 (512) 443-1366
