Joycell Annette Dakins, age 77, of Birchwood, WI died Monday, November 12, 2012 from heart complications.

She was born on November 13, 1934 in Clear Lake, WI to Frank and Grace (Burmeister) Kadrlik. Joycell graduated from the St. Croix Falls High School in 1952. She was married to Richard Dakins on October 5, 1952 in the Jehovah Lutheran Church in St. Paul, MN. They dairy farmed in Birchwood until 1973. At the age of 34 she attended UW-Barron County and then transferred to UW-Eau Claire where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Library Science. She taught Kindergarten in Birchwood and then became a Librarian, retiring in 1992.

Joycell joyfully lived her "dash." She was active in the Trinity Lutheran Church and Harmonettes. She loved music, reading, playing games, crafting, gardening, flowers, fishing, traveling, camping, Precious Moments and feeding their many hummingbirds. First and foremost, Joycell loved her family and always put everyone else's needs before her own. In her family's eyes she will always be a saint.

Joycell Dakins is survived by her husband, Richard "Dick" Dakins of Birchwood, WI; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Judy & Jim St. Vincent of Madison, WI and Janet & John Schieffer of Rice Lake, WI; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, David & Amelia Dakins of Birchwood, WI and Doug & Toni Dakins of Barron, WI; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Grace Kadrlik; and a sister, Jeanne Linner.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Birchwood, WI, Rev. Richard Klabunde officiating, with interment in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Birchwood. Visitation will be held from 4 - 8 PM Thursday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI and for 1 hour prior to the service at the Church.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or the American Heart Association.

Joycell and her family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Abbott Northwestern, Marshfield Clinic and LMC.
