She was born in Wood County July 25, 1953, a daughter of the late Merle B. "Stub" Dailey and Thelma (Boston) Dailey.
Joan was a classroom volunteer at Worthington Elementary School for more than 20 years. She also worked with Hamilton Junior High School Sports Boosters, and with Parkersburg High Sports Boosters. She also worked at Brockway Glass in Vienna.
Surviving is her husband Clifford Edwin (Eddie) Cross Jr., two sons: Zachary Sean Cross and Ricky Allyn Cross of Parkersburg, two stepchildren: Rebecca Lynne (Cross) Petrosino of North Canton, Ohio, and Clifford Edwin (Eddie) Cross III of Parkersburg, three brothers: Robert Dailey, Max Dailey and James Dailey, all of Parkersburg, and many devoted and loving relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother William Dailey.
Funeral services will be Saturday 1 p.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Rev. David Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow at Harper Hill Cemetery, Ashby Ridge, Wood County. Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m..
