Grapeland Messenger - June 1, 2006 Obit for Services for Hazel Daily age 90 of Grapeland were held Friday, May 26 at the first Baptist Church with Rev. David Bradley and Dr. Jack Shoultz officiating. Interment followed in the Grapeland City Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Grapeland. Pallbearers were Henry Spindle, Gerald Skidmore, Stanley Skidmore, Maurice Walton, Glen Lowery, and Ricky Jeffus. Mrs. Dailey died Tuesday, May 23 at Palestine Regional Medical Center. She was born April 4, 1916 in Cherokee County to R. R. "Boss" and Alcie Mae Lillard Scarborough. Mrs. Dailey was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grapeland where she served as the church clerk for many years. Mrs. Dailey was also the co-owner of D&D Hardware. She was a 50 year member of the Grapeland OES Chapter #120 and served as past worthy matron. Mrs. Dailey was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Joyce Ann Skidmore in 1991; a sister, Mary Lou Wilson; and a brother, Raymond Scarborough.
She is survived by a son, Jimmy Dailey and wife Jan of Plano; a son-in-law, Gerald Skidmore and wife Shelia of Frendswood; two grandchildren, Taylor Skidmore and Madison Skidmore.
