Mrs. Helen Blain was born June 17, 1876 at Walnut, Kansas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs, John F. Daggett. She passed away at the Ransom Memorial hospital in Ottawa on July 26 1941. She was united in marriage to Rufus Blain, November 17, 1894 and they made their home in Walnut until in 1914 when they moved to Ottawa where they resided for 27 years. Mr Blain died in Feburary, 1939 and since then Mrs. Blain had lived with her daughters, Mrs J.B. Blunk of Parkville, MO and Mrs Howard Mann of Wellsville, KS. Recently she had returned to make her home in Ottawa near her many friends.
Immediate relatives are; one son, Howard M. Blain of Phoenix, AZ; two daughters, Mrs. H.G. Mann of Wellsville, KS. and Mrs. J.B. Blink of Parkville, MO. two grandchildren; Nita Sheffield Blain and J.B. Blunk. Three borthers; C.H. Daggett of Ft. Scott, Alfred Daggett of Parsons, James A Daggett of Pittsburg; one sister, Mrs. Etta Willits of Arcadia, Kansas and many friends.
A breif service was held at the Lamb funeral home in Ottawa at 10:30 o'clock Monday morning. The body was brought to Walnut and funeral cervices were held in the Walnlut Baptist church. Rev. Floyd C. Moss of Wellsville conducting the service......
