From the Brownwood Bulletin, Dec. 18, 1919:

Mrs. B. N. Brashear
The death of Mrs. Virginia Louise Brashear, wife of B.N. Brashear of Blanket, occurred at the home of her son, A.D. Brashear, 1105 Durham street Thursday morning following an illness of two weeks. The funeral will be conducted Friday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the Durham street home and internment will be in Greenleaf cemetery.
Mrs. Brashear was born in Washington county, Texas, August 16, 1890, a daughter of E.W. Dabney. For several years she and her family have made their home in the Blanket community, where she was loved by all as a conscientious Christian woman. When she became seriously ill some two weeks ago she was brought to the home of her son here for examination and treatment by Brownwood physicians. She is survived by her husband and three sons, all of whom are here. The sons are A.D. Brashear of this city and Walter and Edwin Brashear of Sulphur Springs. Her serious illness and death has brought sorrow in the entire Blanket community and a number of friends from that place will attend the funeral her Friday.
