Durbin, Mirza (Powers)
Mirza Powers was born at Charles City, Iowa, September 22, 1905, and died at the Park Hospital at Mason City, Iowa, January 15, 1926, at 12:30 o'clock. She grew to womanhood in Charles City, where she attended our public schools, and in the neighborhood where she has always lived, was well and favorably known.
She was united in marriage to James Durbin April 11, 1925. She was taken critically ill about three weeks ago, and soon after, was removed from her home to the Park Hospital at Mason City, Iowa, where she might have the best of medical care and nursing, but her life could not be spared. She leaves to mourn her departure from this life, her loving husband, James Durbin, her mother Mrs. George Gunn, of this city, and two sisters, Miss Mabel Powers of this city, and Mrs. H. M. Babcock of Aurora, Illinois, and two brothers, John of Charles City, Iowa and Harry of Buffalo Center, Iowa, and one half sister, Miss Thelma Gunn, of Charles City, and two half-brothers, Clifford and Dale Gunn , also of this city.

Mirza was a very happy hearted, amiable and pleasant girl, whose early death came as a great shock to her wide circle of admiring friends, who will sadly miss her from their councils, and who join with her husband and her mother, brothers and sisters in mourning her death.
Funeral services were held at the First Christian church of this city, Sunday afternoon, January 17, conducted by the pastor, Rev. G. A. Hess, and the remains laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery.
