Charles Cyphers Rites Saturday

Williamsburg – Charles Martin Cyphers, 28, of Williamsburg, died unexpectedly Thursday after becoming sick on the job in Ann Arbor, MI. He died en route to an Ann Arbor hospital.

Mr. Cyphers lived in the Newport News and Williamsburg area for the past 11 years and was previously employed at the Navy Weapons Station.

Surviving are his wife, Edith Mitchell Cyphers; a son, Scott Cyphers; a daughter, Donna Elaine Cyphers; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl S. Cyphers, all of Williamsburg; and sister, Mrs. W. H. Sword of Newport News.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday at the Garrison Funeral Home with the Rev. J. W. Newman, pastor of the Williamsburg Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Williamsburg Memorial Park.

Pallbearers for Charles Martin Cyphers, 28, a former Newport News resident, who died Thursday in Ann Arbor, MI, will be Kermit Edwards, Paul Graham, Paul Horn, Earl Horn, John Justice and Beverly Fox. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Mitchell, Walter Goble, Joel Goble and David Syphers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm today at Garrison Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Burial will be in Williamsburg Memorial Park.
