MUSCATINE, Iowa—Vivian C. Crook, 94, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at the Carrington Place Care Center of Muscatine.
Casket bearers will be Gordon Crook, Alan Crook, John Crook, Jr., Daniel Crook, Rick Hahn and Lance Hahn.
Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Community Room. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Vivian's name.
Vivian C. Cutler was born February 3, 1917 to Wade and Aurella (Guegel) Cutler in Muscatine. She married George W. Crook on October 30, 1933 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death in 1982. Vivian was a homemaker her whole life raising four children and then adopting and raising three children of her deceased daughter, Dolores.
She was a member of the Eastern Star and El Bey Caldron of the Masonic Temple, as well as a member of the Women of the Moose. She and her husband enjoyed boating for many years on the Mississippi. She also enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together in later years.
She will be deeply missed by her two sons; John (Karen) Crook of Muscatine and David (Donna) Crook of Indiana; one daughter, Gloria Hahn of Muscatine; three adopted children, Gordon Crook and Alan (Susan) Crook of Muscatine and Mitzi (Skip) Redmond of Wapello; six grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; two brothers, Forrest (Pauline) Brady and Gilbert (Loretta) Brady of Muscatine; one sister, Donna (Chuck) McAuly of Fredonia and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Dolores; three grandchildren; three brothers, Robert, Harlan and Wayne Cutler and one son-in-law, Herbert.
