Margaret R. Carmine " Bobbie"

Bobbie, formerly of Wilmington, DE, went home to be with the Lord on July 18, 2011, after a long illness. She had lived in Jacksonville, FL for the past five years with her son and daughter-in-law.

She was born in Mt. Vernon, MD the daughter of the late Harvey and Catherine Custis. Bobbie graduated from Wilmington High School in 1952 and the University of Delaware in 1956. She taught English and Spanish at Conrad High School, John Dickinson High School, Goldey-Beacom College and Delaware Technical & Community College for over 30 years. Teaching was her greatest joy and she really enjoyed working with her many students over the years. She loved playing cards, traveling, hosting parties for her friends and cooking soup for her neighbors. Bobbie is survived by her husband of 54 years, William C. Carmine; her daughter, Ellen C. Redcay (Randy); her son, Curtis A. Carmine (Brenda); her sister, Betty C. Gooden; her niece, Susan L. Gooden; her sister -in-law, Ruth Carmine; her grandchildren, Katie Peplinski, Ryan and Christian Redcay, John, Donald and Kari Pace; her great-grandchildren, Jayden, Gavin and Ava Pace.

Friends may call on Tuesday, July 26, from 6-8 pm, at the MCCRERY & HARRA FUNERAL HOME, 3710 Kirkwood Highway (Rt 2 at Duncan Road), Wilm., DE 19808. A celebration of Bobbie's life will be held on Wednesday, July 27, at 9:30 am, at Glasgow Reformed Presbyterian Church 2880 Summit Bridge Road,(Rt. 896) Bear, DE 19702. Burial will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery. A reception will be held at Glasgow Reformed Presbyterian Church immediately following burial.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the. American Heart Association 200 Continental Dr., Suite 102, Newark, DE 19713 or Delaware Kidney Fund, 29 Hill Road, Wilm., DE 19806.
