Mrs. Effie A. Custer, 71, of 6 North Nanticoke avenue, widow of William B. Custer, died at Ideal hospital Sunday afternoon at 3:45 o'clock after a long illness. The funeral will be held at the Spencer & Coleman funeral home, 800 East Main street, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Francis L. Holden, former pastor of the Union Baptist church, will officiate, assisted by the present pastor, the Rev. Lester D. Huxtable. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 o'clock tonight and Tuesday night. The survivors are two sons, Anson H. Custer of Endicott and Charles D. Custer of Utica, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Custer was an employe of the Endicott Johnson Corporation 28 years and a forewoman during the last 15 years.

Mrs. Cueter was the daughter of Anson H. Custer and Melissa E. Custer of Endicott Anson H. Custer was a first cousin of General George Armstrong Custer, who together with 260 men was killed by the Sioux in the battle of the Little Big Horn June 15 1876. Melissa E. Custer died at 6 North Nanticoke avenue Feb. 18, 1929, aged 85 years.
