Constance Curtis Blake, 87, of East Hartford, CT, peacefully passed away on June 16 at home with her family by her side.
Born in Providence, RI, she attended Classical High School before moving to CT.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband William F. Blake Jr., her parents Charles Prescott and Jennie Curtis, her brother and wife Russell and Kay Curtis, and grandson Jonathan Blake.
She was the Matriarch of the family and we will carry on her traditions and love for one another.
Among the surviving family members are her two cherished sons, Curtis and wife Lynda, and Jeffrey and wife Roxanne; grandchildren Kathleen and Richard Fyler, Jennifer, Matthew, Prescott and Amanda, Christopher and Fada, Brian and Sarah, William, and Emily Blake. As well as five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and best friend Evie Kruk.
Constance enjoyed her pets, crossword puzzles, game shows, and was an avid Red Sox fan. She will be remembered for teaching all of us to live with dignity and grace. We are better as individuals and as a family because of her.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 23, at 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Rocky Hill, CT. In lieu of flowers the family asks you make a donation to the Humane Society.
