Services, for Linda Kay Boardman, 59, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, in First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Darrell Cates officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Born to Henry and Lou Ann Shaw Curtis in Yakima, Wash., she died in Ardmore. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; and her father-in-law, Jack Boardman.
A 1965 Del City High School graduate, she married Duane Wesley Boardman on June 17, 1967, in Del City. She attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated in 1970 with her bachelor of science degree in home economics. She taught home economics at Rogers Middle School and Choctaw High School before devoting full time to her family, attending every event in which her children participated. After working a short time at Midwest City High School, Linda and her family moved to Ardmore in 1986, where she became an office secretary at Plainview Middle School. She accepted a position with Barrett and Corner, AIA architectural firm, in 1995 and was employed there at the time of her death.
Linda was an avid tennis player in her youth and enjoyed water skiing. She always valued her time while teaching, and her children. She also enjoyed being a cheerleading sponsor while her daughter was a participant, and was active in her church, serving as a Sunday school teacher.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Terri L. Bartlett, and husband, Chris, Austin, Texas; a son, Todd Boardman, Ardmore; her parents, and a sister, Alicia Curtis, Oklahoma City; and her mother-in-law, Lois Boardman, Del City. She was expecting a grandchild.
Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Griffin-Hillcrest Funeral Home.
