Doris Mae (Curtis) Splecter Crouch passed away April 8, 2013 at Deseret Health and Rehabilitation Center in Yates Center, Kansas. She was 67.

She was born February 13, 1946, in Iola, Kansas, the daughter of William Fredrick "Pete" and Ilda Mae (Zeigler) Curtis. She was raised in the Woodson County, Kansas area attending Dutro- Twin Country School and then graduating from Yates Center High School.

In November of 1972 Doris and Franklin Earl Splecter were married. They soon began their family and were blessed with ten children, Ruth Ann, Linda Kay, Frances E., Nancy L., twin boys: Earl Franklin and Charles Edward, Ronald L., Susan L., Stacy Scott, and Tracy "Joe" Splecter. While Doris was raising a large family she was also owned and operated the Lakeview Service Station. Doris also had other hobbies that kept her busy after her children begin to grow and start families of their own. She enjoyed sewing, bead work and embroidery. Although Doris wasn't a big music fan, she loved to dance and was known to be a great cook. Doris was also a faithful member of the Assembly of God Church in Yates Center.

Doris was preceded in death by her father; her husband Franklin Earl Splecter on September 12, 1990; a daughter, Linda Kay Ashenfelter in December of 2012; and one brother, Steve Curtis of Batesville Arkansas in 2010.

She is survived by her mother: Ilda Mae Curtis; one sister, Joyce Potter and husband Kim of Buffalo, Kansas; her children, Ruth Ann Tate and husband Jim of Randolph, Kansas, Frances E. "Fran" Young and husband Don of Kansas City, Missouri, Nancy L. Pollman; Earl Franklin Splecter and wife Tammy of Yates Center, Charles "Chuck" Edward Splecter of Buffalo, Kansas, Ronald L. Splecter and wife Kristen of LaHarpe, Kansas, Susan L. Dew of Carl Junction, Missouri. Stacy Scott Splecter and wife Deidra of Chicago, Illinois, and Tracy Joseph "Joe" Splecter and wife Amanda of St. Paul, Kansas.

Mrs. Crouch was very blessed with her family, she is also survived by forty grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews as well as cousins, in-laws and other relatives and friends.

Services are scheduled for 10:30 A.M. Friday, April 12, 2013 at Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery east of Burlington, Kansas.
