Thomas "Ira" Curtis III, 44, of Etowah, passed away Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at his residence.

He was employed by East Tennessee Warehouse.

A son of Thomas Ira Curtis Jr. and Sally Bookout Kindle, he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Jackie Bookout, and T.I. Curtis Sr.; and uncle, David Curtis.

Ira was always joking around with his friends and family, he loved to laugh, loved being around people and was very proud to be a part of his family. Ira always let you know you were loved. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Sally and Rich Kindle; father and stepmother, T.I. and Joyce Curtis; sister and brother-in-law, Angela and Rod Taylor; stepsister, Shannon McPhail; grandmother, Geneva Curtis; nephew, Jacob Taylor; nieces, Jaclyn Taylor; step-nieces, Elizabeth Carpenter, and Jordan McPhail; and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. John Crabtree officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at Green Hill Cemetery on Wednesday, Dec. 3, for the 10 a.m. committal service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wesleyanna United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 392, Etowah, TN 37331; or to Bookout Cemetery, c/o of Tommy Bookout, P.O. Box 2, Etowah, TN 37331.

Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.
