ABINGDON - Clarence T. Curtis, 67, of near Carman, died Sunday in Veteran's Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.
He was born in Moline July 20, 1916. He married Wanda Lewis in Galesburg May 20, 1937.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Karen Roberts of Abingdon and Connie Whitake of Knoxville; three brothers, Ernie Curtis and John Curtis, both of Abingdon, and Ross Curtis of Galesburg; three sisters, Betty Strickland and Geraldine DeJaynes, both of Abingdon, and Nora Schultz of Galesburg; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He attended Moline Schools.
He was a World War II veteran. He was a sheet metal worker, formerly employed at Galesburg Sheet Metal, then operating Curtis Sheet Metal Works for 10 years. He retired in 1973.
He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Abingdon and of American Legion Post 381 of Abingdon.
Funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Larson Funeral Home, the Revs. Paul Knight and Alan Springer officiating. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery, with graveside military rites. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening.
Memorials may be made to the Lung Association of to the First Assembly of God Church, the family said.
