George Alexander Curtis, pioneer ranchman of Chaffee county, passed away at his ranch home on Missouri Park on Tuesday, June 20, his death resulting from complications due to his advanced age and after three weeks affliction. George Alexander Curtis was born in England February 4, 1850. He came over the water in 1876 and lived Canada, later coming to Colorado. In 1880 he sent for his family who joined him here.
Since he was a boy he was interested in mining, until 36 years ago when he took up farming. For 27 years he lived on his ranch in Missouri Park, where he passed away on June 20, 1922, after three weeks suffering. Mr. Curtis leaves to bear the sorrow of his loss, his devoted wife, Maria Curtis, and two children, a son, George, and daughter, Mrs. Annie Bratton, both of Salida.
