Lillian Louise Elliott Curtis
Lillian Louise Elliott Curtis, 70, of Athens, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
A native of Robbinsville, N.C. and a resident of McMinn County for 60 years, she was a daughter of the late Wayne and Nettie George Elliott. She attended Piney Grove United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Ruel Lee Curtis, on Oct. 26, 2006; one son, Ruel Lee "Junior" Curtis; and four brothers, Gene, Jack, Huel and Jim Elliott.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Ricky Duggan of Athens; one granddaughter, Haley Duggan and her fiancé, Mason Guidry, both of Athens; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Erma and Danny Rue of Athens, Helen Graham of Madisonville, and Sue and J.L. Grady of Athens; three sisters-in-law, Myrtle Williams and Louzelle Curtis, both of Athens, and Helen Curtis of Holiday, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at South Liberty Cemetery with the Rev. Harold Curtis officiating.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Grady, Jeremiah Outerbridge, Johnny Robinson, Nick Baker, Tony Baker Jr. and Tony Baker Sr.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Ziegler Funeral Home of Athens is in charge of arrangements.
