Later served as secretery of state of Idaho.
First married to Maria Louisa Westfall of Cuba, then Mary Josephine Smith, widow of James Hill. He was stepfather to her two daughters Jessie L. (Edgar H. Flagler) and Hermione (Frank Burton Andrus).
