Delia's first husband was Tillison Reed with whom she had 11 children. Tillison passed away Aug 21, 1836 in Missouri leaving her a widow with very young children. (Tillison is not on find a grave).
Delia is the daughter of John Byam and Sarah Hayward.
Tillison Reed and Delia Deliverance Byam were married in New Hampshire. There were eleven children in the family. Tillision and Delia and 6 of their children joined the LDS church just a few years after it was organized moving first to Ohio, then gathering with the Saints in Missouri in joy. But joy quickly turned to sadness as Tillison, died on August 21, 1836. Six of Delia and Tillision's children and Delia, moved to Nauvoo, Illinois and helped to build the beautiful city of Nauvoo. Delia Deliverance Byam Reed married a man named Nahum Curtis in Warsaw on October, 29, 1839. Delia brought 6 children and Nahum had 8 children, together there were fourteen children.
She came to Utah with the sons of Nahum Curtis in the Willard Richards Company (1848). They Departed 3 July 1848 and arrived in Salt Lake, 10-19 October 1848.
Levi Jackman wrote in his journal (20 Sep. 1848) that he had "Mother Curtis and her young daughter" live in his home that winter. He subsequently married her.
Delia Deliverance spent the last years of her life being lovingly cared for by her youngest daughter Mary Sophia Crocket and her family. When Delia died on April 18, 1871, it occurred at Alvin and Mary Crocket's home in Logan, Utah. She was 81 years old.
