Born May 1, 1907, near Melrose, she was the daughter of John and Abbie Deneen Curtis.
She was married to Gilbrt Davis and later to Earl Gavin in Centerville. He died in 1947.
Mrs. Gavin was a member of the First Baptist Church in Centerville.
Survivors include one son, Doyle A. Davis, Los Alamos, N.M.; one step-daughter, Jan Mahannah of East Lansing, Mich;six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, George Curtis of Melrose; and one sister, Mrs. Rex (Ethel) Wells of Plano.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brothr and two infant children.
Services were Monday, Sept. 17th at the Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas Oelke officiating. Burial was in the Brushy Cemetery north of Plano.
A memorial to the Bloomfield Manor has been established and gifts may be left at the funeral home.
