Word was received in Tipton Wednesday or the death of Mrs.
William Currey who passed away Tuesday night at her home near Fountain City. Funeral services will be held at the late home Friday, morning at 9:00 o'clock and the body will then be brought to Young's funeral home to lie in state from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. when burial will follow in
Fairview cemetery. The deceased was a life-long resident of the Richmond communtity but was known here. Her
husband, William Currey, is a former Tipton resident and the brother of Mrs. John Werner, North Main street, and Mrs. Cora Smith, near Jackson. Mr. Currey is reported to be confined to his home by illness and may not be able to attend the burial services here. Mrs. Currey had been ill for a long time and her death was not unexpected. She had been married previous to her marriage to Mr. Currey. A son, Harry Wilburn, died several years ago and is buried in Fairview.
Mrs. Currey's full name was Nancy Caldona Shimm Wilburn Evans Currey. She was born at Carlisle, Ill., to John H. and Arminda F. Woodruff Shimm (who both were originally from North Carolina.)
