Frank was the son of Thomas Curran and Sarah Rafferty of Tyrone Ireland. He came to Canada in 1878, and married Margaret Doherty of St. John New Brunswick June 12, 1888. Frank worked as a News Agent for the ICR (Intercolonial Railway). They moved to Toronto Ontario and the couple lived at 453 Annette St. They both attended St. Cecilia's Church where their daughter Eleanor entered the nunnery.
