Death: Nov. 26, 2007

Montana, USA

Alicia (Geniz) Curnow died Monday morning, Nov. 26, 2007, at her home in Butte.

She was born July 31, 1939, in Celaya, Guanajuato, and moved to Mexico City at the age of 1. She married Clifford Curnow in Mexico and then moved to Butte. Together they had three children, Darryl, Janet, and Sidney. Her husband died in 1970 and she was left to care for her three children. At age 39, she was stricken with rheumatoid arthritis which slowed down her goals and aspirations.

Providing for her children was a priority in her life, which brought to her much joy. She loved to attend her grandson's events. She liked to dance and sing at family gatherings. She self taught the English language and was an active member of the Arthritis Foundation.

Her eldest son, Darryl, died in 1990. She leaves a daughter and grandson, Janet Curnow and Austin of Butte; son, daughter-in-law, and grandson, Sidney, Mika and Clifford Curnow, of Blackfoot, Idaho; sister, Margarita Geniz de Lopez of Mexico; and many relatives throughout Mexico.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the Curnow Mausoleum in Mount Moriah Cemetery.
