Cunningham-Brazell Families
Sarah J. Cunningham was born in 1848 in Alabama. She joined the Baptist church early in life and lived a faithful Christian life. She was married to William Brazell in 1863. To this union were born eight children of which six are now living. They are: Jim Brazell, Moriarity, New Mexico; John Brazell, of Roosevelt, Oklahoma; E.J. Brazell, Munday, Texas; Bob Brazell, Hammon, Oklahoma; Jettie Hensley, Strong City, Oklahoma; and Emma Johnson, Strong City, Oklahoma; several grand children and great grandchildren.
They moved to Texas in the 1870's. Her husband passed on in 1888. She came to Oklahoma in 1898 and filed on a claim 3 miles west of Strong City where she lived until 1905.
The last five years of her life she made her home with her younger daughter, Mrs. C.O. Hensley.
She dedparted this life January 31, 1936 at 12:15 a.m.
Burial was made in the Strong City cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma after funeral services were conducted by Rev. Fred Wright assisted by Rev. C.E. Stowe. Tunnard Funeral Home in charge.
