Sherman C. Cunningham, 57, died unexpectedly early Tuesday morning at his residence, 312 Queen St., apparently as the result of a heart attack.

He was born in Winchester, moved to Selma as a boy and graduated from Selma High School. Mr. Cunningham has been employed at Precision Mold and Tool Co. for the past 15 years and earlier was employed at Conner Machine Shop. He was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church; Delaware Lodge 46, F&AM; Chapter, Coundil and Commandery; Murat Shrine and Muncie Shrine Club. He was also a member of Eastern Star, Chapter 104; White Shrine of Jerusalem, Chapter 14; Moose Lodge 33 and Travelers Protective Association.

Surviving are his daughter, Judith Anne Cunningham, at home; a son, Pearley LeRoy Cunningham, Library, Pa.; a sister, Mrs. John Edward Corn, Selma; three grandchildren; several aunts and uncles and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Meeks Mortuary at 2 p.m. Thursday. Entombment will follow in Elm Ridge Mausoleum. Rev. Jack Thomas of Riverside United Methodist Church will officiate at services. Friends may call at the mortuary from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and any time before the services Thursday. The White Shrine of Jerusalem will conduct memorial services at the mortuary at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday followed by Delaware Lodge 46 which will conduct services at 8 p.m.
