TISHOMINGO -- Funeral services for Ludie Jane Ellis Cunningham, 74, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at Clark Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Perry Crisp officiating. Interment will be at Caddo Cemetery in Caddo.

Mrs. Cunningham died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was born on July 28, 1925, in Caddo, Okla. to Roy and Nellie Davis Ellis.

She attended school at Caddo, graduating from high school and marrying Jay D. Cunningham on April 10, 1943, in Caddo. She was a lifelong member and Sunday school teacher at the Baptist church. She was also a Campfire Girl leader, an officer in the U.S. Postal Service Auxiliary and belonged to many other civic clubs and organizations in Tonkawa. Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham had lived in several parts of the country before coming to Tishomingo in 1991 from Shawnee. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Arvin Ellis, J.D. Ellis and Jiggs Ellis; and a sister, Veda Mae Smith.

Survivors include her husband, Jay D., of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Claudia and Daryl McKeown of Muskogee, and Sue Ann and Roger Clark of Tishomingo; four grandchildren, Kerry Jane McKeown of Norman, Dr. Kevin Jay McKeown of Birmingham, Ala., and PFC Jason Eggleston and his wife, Shannon of Woodlawn, Tenn., and Breean Eggleston of Denver, Colo.; three great-grandchildren, Jayke Eggleston, Jaycee Eggleston and Forrest Kennedy; two brothers-in-law and their spouses, Glenn and Myra Cunningham of Cookson, and Cecil and JoAnn Smith of Durant; nieces and nephews, Sandra and Dr. William Talley of Oklahoma City, Susie and David Prewitt of Tulsa, Mike Smith of Oklahoma City, Jerry Joe Ellis of Durant, Kathy Cunningham of Del City, Leslie Cunningham of Oklahoma City, Sheryl Burleson of Tulsa, Richard Ellis and Renee' Sterner of Durant.

Bearers wil be Dr. Kevin Jay McKeown, PFC Jason M. Eggleston, Leslie Cunningham, Jerry Joe Ellis, Steve Harris and Harold Winburn.
