Mrs. Goldie Williams Cunningham of Hornersville, 29, who was a native of Caruthersville, met death in a singular manner on Saturday of last week when she was returning home from a visit to her brother, Earl Williams of Kennett.
The accident happened near Mellwood, Ark., the Dunklin Democrat relates, when her car accidentally left the road and went in a ditch pausing and balancing precariously on the edge of the ditch bank. She climbed out and slammed the door, causing the car to topple over, catching her underneath and breaking her neck, the paper relates.
Funeral services were held Monday at her brothers home in Kennett and burial was in the Hornersville cemetery. Mrs. Cunningham, who is survived by her husband, a daughter, five sisters and the one brother, was born in Caruthersville December 4, 1910, the paper states.
