Born on March 24, 1956 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Kathryn McCoy.
She graduated from George Washington High School with the Class of 1975. She went on to earn her Licensed Practical Nursing degree from Ivy Tech/Methodist Hospital. She had a great love of children and devoted herself to pediatric nursing where she worked at Methodist Hospital, Metro Health and most recently at Chapel Hill Immediate Care. She was a member of the Indiana State Nursing Association.
On October 11, 1980 she was united in marriage to Kent Cummings in Indianapolis.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Kent Cummings of Indianapolis; sister, Patricia Wand of Indianapolis; brother, Michael (Brenda) McCoy of Brownsburg, Ind.; and nieces, Angie(Frank) Russo and Sandi (Bob) Grubbs of Avon; nephews Joe(Kristina) McCoy and Ben (Lori) McCoy. Her great nieces and nephews Shelby, Kathleen, Joshua, Nicholas, Juliet and Bo. Great great nephew Dylan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Kathryn McCoy; cousins, Nancy Cassiero Polk and Roxanne Cassiero Saverino.
Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, Indianapolis, is in charge of arrangements. Burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Indianapolis.
