HELEN JANET (CULLY) CALDWELL-KEYSER.
Helen Janet (Cully) Caldwell-Keyser passed away Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at her home in St. Charles, Ill. She was born on Nov. 6, 1909, in Jacksonville, Ill., to Anne and Frank Cully. Her father passed away when she was just three months old. She and her mother, aunts and grandparents all moved to St. Charles shortly thereafter. Janet graduated from St. Charles High School in 1927, and then attended Northern Illinois Teachers College (now called NIU), where she graduated in 1929. She taught at Lincoln School in St. Charles prior to her marriage on June 12, 1930, to her first husband, Charles Louis Caldwell in St. Charles. Charles and Janet were married for 57 years. Janet retired from DuKane Corporation after working there for many years, and is survived by her son, Charles Leslie Caldwell and his wife, Rosemary Doris Nauss- Caldwell; her three grandchildren, James William, Charles Andrew and Mark Alan; and her great-grandson, James William II. After Charles' passing, she married her second husband, Lt. Col George Newton Keyser on June 9, 1990, at the age of 80. George and Janet were married for 15 years prior to his passing. Janet was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ Scientist. She will be remembered by her family for her love, wisdom and humor. "God, Good, Guides, Guards and Governs" and "HOME is Harmony of Mind Expressed." She will be missed. Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St. (corner of Route 64 and Route 25), St. Charles. Graveside services will be Tuesday, at Union Cemetery in St. Charles on Route 25 at 11 a.m. Janet was a longtime lover of Scottish terriers.
