JOSEPH C. CULLISON, JR., 86, of Pearland, Texas, surrounded by his loved ones, on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Joe was the youngest child of 12 children, born on November 7, 1925 to Joseph C. Cullison Sr. and Melissa Riley Cullison, in Alvin, Texas. His parents and numerous brothers and sister preceded him in death.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy (Dot) Cullison. He leaves his precious memories to be cherished by his three loving and devoted daughters: Melody Kammerer and husband Rick, Alisa Navarro, and husband Victor, Cara Adams-Glaze and husband Jesse; his grandchildren: Justin and wife Brianna, Joey and wife Jenny, Jerod and wife Leslie, Joel and wife Reyna, Victoria and husband Alex, Cody and Courtney, Gina Nunez and husband Andrew; great-grandchildren: Landon, Kaden, Calli, Jordan, Michael, Anthony, Greyson and baby Kammerer expected to arrive in January; nephew Lee Barron and wife Bernadette; and his dog "Snickers," whom he loved dearly.

Joe was a devoted husband, father and Christian. He left home at 17, where he served in the Navy from 1943-1954. He served in WWII and the Korean War. He retired after 35 years of service to Reliant Energy. He served at Garden Road Baptist Church for many years, where he drove the bus to pick up children for church and Sunday school. He was also an active member of Sagemont Full Gospel Church and head usher at Gulf Meadows Church of God. For many years, he was a volunteer in the Pearland Volunteer Fire Department and was one of the first to serve in the Pearland EMS. For the last five years, he has cared for his wife Dorothy, who has Alzheimer's.

Joe was a great story teller and anyone that knew him would know he had the "gift of gab" and never met a stranger. We will all miss him dearly and will hold his memories in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be Friday, October 19th, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, and the Funeral Service celebrating Joe's life will be Saturday, October 20th, at 1:00pm, both held at Niday Funeral Home-Beamer Chapel. Pastor and friend, Steve O' Donohoe will be officiating. Interment will follow at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.

The Family would like to express sincere appreciation to niece Jeannie Smalley, Silverado Hospice and Dr. Stuart Solomon for the care, love, and service given to Joe and Dorothy.
