In loving memory of "Dave" Culbertson, July 30, 1926 – July 23, 2015.
Dave joined the US Navy at 18 and served in the WWII Pacific Theater. He was on the first ship to enter Tokyo Bay. He worked at Libby Owens Ford for 20 years and retired from General Electric after many years of service. He was a devoted husband to his wife Doris "Sweet Pea" for 66 years. Dave faithfully served his church and country. He had a generous heart and always had an open hand for those in need. The legacy he left to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was one of devotion, selflessness, strong character, hard work and servanthood.
Dave is preceded in death by his wife, Doris. He is survived by four children, David (Julie), Donna (Hugh), Dianna (Levon), and Don (Karen). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Services celebrating the life of Burwell David Culbertson will be held Monday, July 27, 2015, 10:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
