BRETTHAUER, Helena Elaine "Elaine"(73) of Priest River, Idaho passed away on Dec 10th, 2006 in Spokane. Elaine was born in Newport, Washington May 4th, 1933 the daughter of Leo and Helena (Wright) Crysler. She spent her youth in Newport. In June of 1949 she married Ken Bretthauer in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. After their marriage the couple moved to Priest River where they raised their children and she spent the rest of her life. Elaine worked for the Priest River School District as a teacher's aid for the special education program. She retired in 1992. Elaine enjoyed playing Bunko with friends, she also enjoyed camping, fishing and snowmobiling. Survivors include Ken at their home in Priest River; three children, Todd Bretthauer of Newport, Wa, Stacy (and Bill) Bretthauer of Athol, Id, and Brad (and Kelly) Bretthauer of Newport, Wa; one sister Alice (and Frank) Warner of Newport, Wa, ten grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sons; Monty, Wayne and Carl Bretthauer. At her request no public services will be held. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home and Crematory of Priest River, Idaho is in charge of arrangements.
