Mary Parr was born before 1755 per census records, likely in Halifax (now Patrick) County, VA, to John and Miriam Parr.

The Parrs are believed to descend from John and Mary Parr of Prince George's County, MD.

Mary Parr married Robert Crump about 1769 in what was then Pittsylvania County, VA. By 1773, they'd likely moved with Robert's older brother William to North Carolina.

After many years in Stokes County, NC, Mary and her husband moved to join their children in Franklin County, GA. Robert died about 1825 and Mary was still living in 1830 when she executed a deed in Franklin County as a legatee of her husband.

Her exact date of death is unknown.Mary Parr Crump was the daughter of John and Miriam (__?__) Parr, Sr. As Mary Crump, she was mentioned in John Parr's 20 Jan 1808 will as his daughter. (Ref: Will of John Parr-Patrick Co., VA Will Bk. "1" [1791-1823] Reel 14, p103), dated 20 Jan 1808)

Mary Parr's father, John Parr, Sr., owned 400 acres of land on the Little Fork of Spoon Creek in Patrick Co., VA (Old Survey Book I (1746-1782), Pittsylvania County, Virginia by Marian Dodson Chiarito, 1988, p90). Mary Parr was born and grew up there. Her future husband, Robert Green Crump III, on 30 May 1767 patented land only a few miles away which consisted of 400 acres located on Green Creek which flows into the South Mayo River.

Mary Parr married Robert Green Crump III in 1770 at Pittsylvania Co., VA.

Robert Crump III and his family moved from Pittsylvania Co., VA to Patrick Co,, VA as his daughter, Jane Crump, was born there about 1783 (See source #1 below, page 365). NOTE: Patrick Co., VA borders on both Curry Co., N.C. to the southwest and Stokes Co., N.C. to the south.

Robert III and family moved to Surry Co., N.C., where he was granted 300 acres on long branch Beaver Island Creek on the Guilford Co, NC line on 03 Nov 1784 (Ref: Surry Co., N.C., Deed Bk. "C", p227).

Robert G. Crump III was head of household in Stokes Co., N.C. in 1790 as Stokes County was formed from Surry County in 1789. (Ref: "Heads of Families at the First Census...1790, North Carolina [Washington, 1908], p178).

The 1790 US Census of Rockingham Co., N.C enumerated William Crump [brother of Robert Crump III] (Ref: 1790 US Census, Rockingham Co., N.C Microfilm #: M637-7, Enumerator: Thos. Henderson). These two 1790 households, Robert and William Crump, were on the Stokes/Rockingham County line and were about 2 miles apart as confirmed in the 08 Jan 1847 St. Clair Co., AL deposition given by Sarah Hannah (Riggs) Crump, widow of Silas Crump (son of Robert Green Crump III (See the FAG memorials of Silas Crump and his wife, Sarah Hannah (Riggs) Crump, for copies of the 1847 St. Clair, AL original deposition and transcription).

In a Patrick Co., VA court record of Thursday, 26 Feb 1795 is a reference to a deed transaction of John Parr, Sr. to Robert Crump III of Stokes County, North Carolina [Ref: Abstracts of Order Book "O", Patrick County, Virginia (June 1791-August 1800), p88]. NOTE: Patrick Co., VA borders Stokes Co., N.C on the north and Robert Crump III was the husband of Mary (Parr) Crump, daughter of John Parr, Sr.

The 1800 US Census enumerated Robert Crump (III) as head of household in Salisbury, Stokes Co., N.C. William Crump (Robert Crump III's brother) was still enumerated in Salisbury, Rockingham Co., N.C. in the age range of "45 Y/O and older".

By 1803, Robert and Mary (Parr) Crump III had followed their sons, Silas and John D. Crump, to Franklin Co., GA, who had moved there by 1801 as Silas' daughter, Malinda "Milly" Crump, was born there in 1801 (Ref: The 1847 deposition of Sarah Hannah (Riggs) Crump mentioned above states her husband's parents moved to Georgia two years after they did).

Robert Crump, III owned 200 acres on Bear Creek. Mary (Parr) Crump, his wife, was "charged with 100 acres the same year, 1808" (Ref: "Franklin County, Georgia, Tax Digests", IV, 1825-1839 by Martha Walters Ackor [Birmingham, Ala., 1981]., p12). On 01 Aug 1809, Robert sold 25 acres, part of the tract where he lived (Franklin Co, GA, Deed Bk. "T". 1809-10. pp65-66).

The 1808 property tax list of Bear Creek, Captain Benjamin Hollingsworth District, Franklin Co., GA contains the following note as mentioned above: Mary (Parr) Crump, wife of Robert Crump (III),-100 acres. Adjacent to this note is a listing of John (D.) Crump, brother of Robert Green Crump III, owning 200 acres.

Robert Green Crump III died in 1823 in Franklin County, GA. He was last named in the Franklin Co., GA tax digests in 1825 when his son, Richard Lee Crump, was listed for Robert Crump, Sr. (III), no poll ( Ref: "Franklin County, Georgia, Tax Digests", IV, 1825-1839 by Martha Walters Ackor [Birmingham, Ala., 1981]., p12).

Mary (Parr) Crump was proved to be living on 10 Feb 1826, when "Mary (Parr) Crump, Robert (Green) Crump (IV) and Richard (Lee) Crump (2 of her sons) of Franklin Co., GA and James York of St. Clair Co., AL, as legatees of Robert Green Crump III, deceased, sold 75 acres on the north side of Leatherwood Fork" (Franklin Co. GA Deed Bk. BBB, 1829-32, pp52-53, recorded 13 Apr 1830).

Mary (Parr) Crump was probably the 70-80 Y/O age range female enumerated in 1830 US Census of Franklin Co., GA in the household of her son, Richard (Lee) Crump. Mary (Parr) Crump died about 1830 in Franklin Co., GA.

The children of Robert Green and Mary (Parr) Crump, III were:

The Malessa (Malissa) Crump, daughter of Robert Crump III, inscribed on this marker was born in 1779, died in Franklin Co., GA and married, 25 Feb 1808 to Enoch Andrews, who was born 1784 in Fairfield Co., S.C and died after 1850 in Franklin Co., GA (see Franklin Co., GA Marriage Register 1, p11, recorded as Enoch "Anders")
