Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery with George Chambers, pastor of Lakeview United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Horizon Funeral Home.
Betty Arlene Crowell, 77, lifelong resident of Dalhart, died Monday, July 17, 2006, at Coon Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 15, 1929, in Dalhart to George R. and Bertha Bell Hudson Hook.
She graduated from Dalhart High School in 1947. She worked in numerous service-oriented occupations throughout her life.
She was a dearly loved mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She will be missed very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two siblings; and a daughter, Glena Sue Creel.
Survivors include her children, Karen and Denny O'Hara and Jill Mathews, all of Amarillo, Mickie and Jerry Hunter and Debbie and Tim Daily, all of Dalhart; four sisters, Blanche Hawkins, Bobby Darlene Thompson, her twin sister, and June Cleavenger, all of Dalhart, and Lois Smith of Tulsa, Okla.; grandchildren, Marcie and Greg Williams, Shawn Poyner, Chad Poyner, Sheresa and Collin McCartt, Melissa Bush, Lacynda Hunter, Craig and Rachel Hunter, Kristin and Brad Holt and Jennifer Dailey; and 20 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Coon Memorial Health Care & Hospice, 320 Texas Blvd., Dalhart, TX 79022 or the Muscular Dystrophy Association, in care of Amarillo National Bank-Georgia Branch, P.O. Box 1, Amarillo, TX 79105-0001.
