Rosamond Ella Crowell Berry (1922 - 2012)

Rosamond "Rose" Berry, 90, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012, at home with her loving family. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Rock Church Cemetery in Hood County. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Rock Church Cemetery Association, Attention: Dianne Martin, 5702 Friendship Road, Tolar, Texas 76476.

Rose was born Jan. 16, 1922, at the Crowells' home near Paluxy. She spent her youth in the Paluxy River valley, a place that remained very close to her heart. She studied at Tarleton State and TWU. During World War II she worked in Washington, D.C., at the White House and for the Navy Department. After the war she worked for Armour & Co., where she met and married LeRoy Berry. They had one son, Robert Roy Berry. She became a teacher and retired from the Fort Worth ISD. Rose was a beautiful woman inside and out, the life of the party, always able to make you smile. She will be deeply missed and forever live in our hearts.

Survivors: Loving son, Robert Berry of Richland Hills; grandsons, Bobby Berry of Richland Hills and Randol Berry and wife, Suzanne, of Hurst; and great-granddaughter, Cora Berry.

Rose was my best friend, mentor, mother confessor, and just plain fun to be with. Miss her so much.
