Death of Mr. Caswell
Crowder at
Langdale, Thurs.

Caswell F. Crowder, 76, died at his home in Langdale at 12:15 o'clock noon Christmas day.

He had lived in langdale abot fifty years. he was born near rock Mills, in Randolph county, Alabama, May 11, 1854

Mr. Crowder came to Langdale when he was about 26 years old, and was active in civic, school and church affairs for many years, being a member of Shawmut Bapt. Church until death. He helped to organize the church and was a charter member. He also served on the Langdale school board for a number of years.

He was married to Miss Texas Young. To this union was born seven daughters and four sons, eight of whom survive him. Four daughters; Mrs. W. W. Burdette, of Atlanta; Mrs. E. E. Askew, of Langdale, Mrs. Ben F. Tidwell, Langdale, Miss Lillian Crowder, Langdale; and four sons, Robert F., Roy L. Crowder of Langdale; Charlie O. Crowder, Shawmut and William C. Crowder, of Birmingham.

Funeral services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. Earl Trent, assisted by Rev. T. E. Swearingen. The deacons of the church acted as pallbearers, and interment was in Shwwmut cemetery, Johnson & Co., funeral directors in charge. Pallbearers were active: H. J Plant, J. A. Bryan, W. C. Champion, J. W. Underwood, J. T. Irvin, T. D. Herrington; Honorary: J. T. Hollis, J. W. Foster, J. M. Class, H. G. Word, W. L. Cardwell.
