Mrs. Mary (Crouse) Baker, wife, of Adam Baker, died Sunday morning at 10 o'clock at her home, Antietam Junction, north of town, from heart trouble, aged 64 years.
Mrs. Baker was first taken ill eight weeks ago but her condition did not reach a serious nature until several days ago when she was forced to take her bed. Previous to that it was thought by her physician and near family that she was on the way to complete recovery.
Mrs. Mary Baker was born in Carlisle, the daughter of William B. and Catherine (Masonheimer) Crouse and while still a girl her parents moved to Waynesboro where they resided at Green Hill Cemetery. In 1878 she married Adam Baker and had resided in this section practically all of her life. She was a member of the St. Paul Reformed Church for a long number of years. She was a devoted Christian and good mother and will be greatly missed in her home community.
Surviving are her husband and three children as follows: Catherine May, Ralph Edward and Wilburg Allen Baker, all of the home section; one brother and four sisters also survive her as follows, John R. Crouse, Misses Anna and Bell Crouse, all of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Jacob Friedly, Carlisle; Mrs. Edward Hamaker, Harrisburg.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the house conducted by Rev. Joseph E. Guy. Interment was made in Green Hill Cemetery.
