Alice Proffitt Crouch, loving mother and devoted wife, 75 of Madison Heights, passed away Friday, Oct. 8, 2004. She was the wife of the late Ernest Lee Crouch, Sr.
Born May 21, 1929, in Baltimore, Md., she was a daughter of the late Manson Heath Proffitt and Marietta Tenner Proffitt.
In addition to her husband, a sister, Kathleen Simpson, preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons; Ernest Lee Crouch, Jr. and wife, Tammy, of Lynchburg, Danny R. Crouch and wife, Linda, of Lynchburg and Don Alan Crouch and wife, Gene, of Madison Heights; daughter, Sandra C. Burnley and fiancÚ, Marshall Staton, of Lynchburg; two brothers; Manson H. Proffitt and wife, Charlotte, and Weston J. "Bud" Proffitt; four sisters, Dorothy P. Norvell, Marion Barrs, Joan Martin and Marietta Hartless and husband, Junior; six grandchildren, Randy Crouch, Sherman Dale Burnley, Jr., Felicia Burnley, Shane Crouch, Kane Michael Crouch and Alan Staton; and other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel. Interment will take place in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home and at other times at the residence of Don Crouch, 523 Possum Island Road, Madison Heights, 929-8258.
